April Dusk 03:35
Curtains fall like brothers in a fight Again, again, again, amend Will I see you again? In late April dusk, when lovers fall like flies Again, again, again, amend Will I see you gain Through a trapdoor Fading lights Where no thoughts count Eager hands they need to find In a lap dance Yearning eyes No, no thoughts count Eager hands they need to find

I've given all I can I tried to turn a better man But then you moved me out And now I'm falling, falling Oh look I can’t stop falling Backwards into time And everything that once was light You came and blew that out And now I can't stop crying My eyes they won’t stop crying I know you never meant to make me cry, Quite like this So now I crawl back Up Solsbury Hill No though you never meant to make me cry, You made me cry like this So now I crawl back Up Solsbury Hill Now the newborn they're shedding tears For every lie that you have told and I pray to no god To take me further from here Go take my mind far from me Drinking in bars next to myself, staring the years down in their face Guess I no longer care Might as well keep on falling Might as well fold all this in Oh my mind Shoot me into space The sky is full of needles Your new romance on display And it's already hard enough To see you in another's arms I don't need us to be making friends Oh my dear Stuck in your stratosphere The moon it hit my eye We're in a rumbling drunken fight My world it seized to shine After I doused it all in wine Now don't you tell me you'll never forget The good times we had I know you never meant to make me cry, Quite like this So now I crawl back Up Solsbury Hill No though you never meant to make me cry, You made me cry like this So now I crawl back Up Solsbury Hill

I'd like to explain these things I see I'd like to follow the way I feel But then I go back To nowhere You asked for my hand was yours to keep You shattered my plans so now I'm free Just let me go back To nowhere Once there was a time When you held that heart of mine But then my dreams they roamed Cold streets lit by streams of dawn Once there was a time When I held that heart of yours But then our dreams they roamed Our dreams they roamed Violet bruised dreams and I'm soaked to the bone Been walking for years just to return back home Now let me go back To nowhere Throw your kiss hands To a man with a plan Cause by break of dawn All traces of us they'll be gone Once there was a time When you held that heart of mine But then my dreams they roamed Cold streets lit by streams of dawn Once there was a time When I held that heart of yours But then our dreams they roamed Our dreams they roamed Then our dreams, they roamed

Through the good times and then the bad times I hold your hand, I hope that you don't mind Cause I promised to stay by your side Long before These pictures of us slowly tore down our walls And the way that I laugh made you feel uncomfortable Now I won't stop to talk but you want to go home Will we learn to be Dishonest as we see That nothing stays the same Will nothing stay the same? Will we learn to feel These things that we once felt With someone else again Just someone else again? Remind me again why everything will end well In that story that I once loved And now I forgot how to tell You were a stranger when I met you And when you'll leave you'll be no friend Is it just that time in between that we will share? Will we learn to be Dishonest as we see That nothing stays the same Will nothing stay the same? Will we learn to feel These things that we once felt With someone else again Just someone else again?

Once you had a heart to burn For what's love And what this world has in store For good people Caught in a bad situation At times our heads crushed by the rules Nothing that's mine Can also be yours We're good people But we can't hide our desperation, no What's a lie stuck in a pile Of insincerities, say what's it to me if your World hangs by its feet After all you're a stranger Betrayed by another stranger If you can't take the heat Best leave your flame to me The cold spreads under your sheets You're turning volatile And you don't know why you feel Like good people Caught in a bad situation Words like torches stuck in your throat Go set fire to who you once loved They're good people But now you're out for your own sake boy What's a lie stuck in a pile Of insincerities, say what's it to me if your World hangs by its feet After all you're a stranger Betrayed by another stranger If you can't take the heat Best leave your flame to me

My Crew 04:03
You keep breaking glass With the understatement of someone who believes, that nothing was meant to last Keep the world right there at your feet To tell it I told you so that One day I’d tell you I told you so Well You keep saving your own skin Until the creeping fear of being found out is the last thing it still holds within How does it feel to always be right Whilst doing everybody else wrong But if you do me wrong one more time I swear Oh I swear I You, you wanna mess with my crew Well I think that you might find that death it will suit you You, you wanna fuck with my blood And now I’m under the impression your throat it needs a cut Reasonable debates Mutual appreciations and details of your unfortunate childhood tales Won’t keep my head from loosing this shit now What if I really wanna do you wrong Oh boy, I really wanna do you wrong now You, you wanna mess with my crew Well I think that you might find that death it will suit you You, you wanna fuck with my blood And now I’m under the impression your throat it needs a cut Just take of your glasses boy I wouldn’t want to destroy Your eyesight or vital organs Or things my insurance won’t cover And in regards to your mother, please send my apologies I didn’t mean to suggest she would engage in sex With her only son You, you wanna mess with my crew Well I think that you might find that death it will suit you You, you wanna fuck with my blood And now I’m under the impression your throat it needs a cut

Gold 03:19
Oh this way has been so hard I wouldn't mind if you lit up yourself To show us out of the dark Silver lining lights the sky Guess it wouldn't mean much to someone Who came to find Gold We're all made of gold Let no one tell you different No no no no no Teenage boys, they lose their lives In countries that you can't pronounce the name of Just to show that you were right Your atrocities, they’ve grown so rife Go peel off all these layers of your skin So everyone can see you shine Gold We're all made of gold Let no one tell you different No no no no no Gold We're all made of gold From teeth to heart to soul to dead and sold We’re all made of gold What have you done to Deserve your place in the sun And when has someones misfortune Turned into your fortune Now don't you say that it's all, say that it's all Been this way Since the dawn of time Gold We're all made of gold Let no one tell you different No no no no no

Porcelain Thoughts On their way to the floor Now I’m not coming back From that space in my head The world's full of love Hard to cut yourself off But I've seen what it does Yeah, we all know what it does Should have said no Somehow came up with yes And now I'm floating in space Like Laika on a test Oh, I’m not made for this Don't ask me to resist What I know, what I know that kills What I know, what I know that kills Oh, I’m not made for this Don't ask me to resist What I know, what I know that kills What I know, what I know that kills Thought you might say That I'm loosing the plot Guess what I'm not coming back Hidden corners in my head Knew you would say That this world’s full of love Hey, I’ve seen what it does Don’t we all know what it does Should have said so But said so so instead And now we're moving like grainy dots Plotting simple fucking plots Oh, I’m not made for this Don't ask me to resist What I know, what I know that kills What I know, what I know that kills Oh, I’m not made for this Don't ask me to resist What I know, what I know that kills What I know, what I know that kills Nevermind, nevermind, come unwind all these poison laced smiles Then become someone new Someone more like you Nevermind, nevermind, don't you worry passing time Cause time it will pass you And will be through with you Before you know you do Before you knew you did

Aisles 04:16
Thought I'd seen the truth Once we were out of excuses for Our heroes down and abused While we're all man of the future now We sit and gaze in a stare As she almighty displays her mother's frown No no she can't hold us down We dance like apes in our fathers crown I've seen the best disappear In boxes treasured and memorized In halls as long and as dark As we had feared in our sleepless nights You know deep down in your bones You're still that boy I would kill for These times they weigh in our shoes We dance like apes in our father's crown People got the world to blame And you don't think that that will change do you Oh now do you? Say yes to yes, then no to no You blew the dust Now keep that gold to you It all to you Well people thought the world could change Now you don't think that that they're to blame do you Oh now do you? Say yes to no, then no to yes You blew the gold Now keep that dust to you It all to you So we go shaking the hands Until they make us to self made men Our nights they wrestle the sun Bleach our shadows in the deep white sands And in the aisles of our downfall I shrug the waltz that you asked for Discourage all of your infantries This won't be won by an army now People got the world to blame And you don't think that that will change do you Oh now do you? Say yes to yes, then no to no You blew the dust Now keep that gold to you It all to you Well people thought the world could change Now you don't think that that they're to blame do you Oh now do you? Say yes to no, then no to yes You blew the gold Now keep that dust to you It all to you We don't give a damn about us People got the world to blame And you don't think that that will change do you Oh now do you? Say yes to yes, then no to no You blew the dust Now keep that gold to you It all to you Well people thought the world could change Now you don't think that that they're to blame do you Oh now do you? Say yes to no, then no to yes You blew the gold Now keep that dust to you It all to you

All these School books in anatomy They are trying hard, to make believe That there’s a hidden treasure hiding in your chest Yet if you go look for it seems you find pain at best There’s 2 million choices of what I hate Or what I want It's hard to differentiate In these modern times, full of black and white Giving us rainbows of grey I got it All figured out That's why I'm So full of doubt Contemporary heart Why you keep me guessing, always keep me guessing Is it that truth that hit me hard That the listening to my feelings keeps my head constantly messing With my mind all made up, but you're still trying to be so clever Why you're always being so clever I thought a heart it needs to love But with all you make me feeling, I just can't escape the feeling That for you That’s not enough Now you’re Scaling down, ‘cause all these things you had Were really trying their best to sooth you but did obfuscate Beneath the cluster and the habits of your billboard self Should there be something to makes sense Of all this Slowly growing, somber fascination From rubble of the bubbles dawns a fascist nation First you’re angry, then you're scared and then a little blue Before you Can't feel a thing You had it All figured out That's why you're So full of doubt Contemporary heart Why you keep me guessing, always keep me guessing Is it that truth that hit me hard That the listening to my feelings keeps my head constantly messing With my mind all made up, but you're still trying to be so clever Why you're always being so clever I thought a heart it needs to love But with all you make me feeling, I just can't escape the feeling That for you That’s not enough Enough Enough And if I feel it, can it be wrong be it? And if I feel it, there’s nothing wrong with it And if I feel it, can it be wrong be it? And if I feel it, there’s something wrong And if I feel it, can it be wrong be it? And if I feel it, there’s nothing wrong with it And if I feel it, can it be wrong be it? There’s something wrong, with what I’m feeling And if I feel it, can it be wrong be it? And if I feel it, there’s nothing wrong with it And if I feel it, can it be wrong be it? And if I feel it, there’s something wrong with what I… And if I feel it, can it be wrong be it? And if I feel it, there’s nothing wrong with it And if I feel it, can it be wrong be it? There’s something wrong with what, with what I’m feeling

about

Written in the late twenty-tens, Contemporary Heart is an album musing on a world rapidly entering an age of post-truth and a society settling in the comfortable discomfort of their respective bubbles. An age old organ trying to navigate the currents of our technologies and realities spinning in ever faster evolutionary circles, while itself being restricted to patterns developed thousands, if not millions of years ago.
