about
One of our favourites from our upcoming album "Contemporary Heart", the song was written while a friend went through a painful breakup, spending hours on the phone trying to console. It is our ode to the lovesick, our rendition of a song to the heartbroken and ultimately to catharsis and the beauty of new beginnings.
The beautiful cover is by Sofia Lomba, like all our beautiful covers, we're very thankful! 💜
lyrics
I've given all I can
I tried to turn a better man
But then you moved me out
And now I'm falling, falling
Oh look I can’t stop falling
Backwards into time
And everything that once was light
You came and blew that out
And now I can't stop crying
My eyes they won’t stop crying
I know you never meant to make me cry,
Quite like this
So now I crawl back
Up Solsbury Hill
No though you never meant to make me cry,
You made me cry like this
So now I crawl back
Up Solsbury Hill
Now the newborn they're shedding tears
For every lie that you have told and I pray to no god
To take me further from here
Go take my mind far from me
Drinking in bars next to myself, staring the years down in their face
Guess I no longer care
Might as well keep on falling
Might as well fold all this in
Oh my mind
Shoot me into space
The sky is full of needles
Your new romance on display
And it's already hard enough
To see you in another's arms
I don't need us to be making friends
Oh my dear
Stuck in your stratosphere
The moon it hit my eye
We're in a rumbling drunken fight
My world it seized to shine
After I doused it all in wine
Now don't you tell me you'll never forget
The good times we had
I know you never meant to make me cry,
Quite like this
So now I crawl back
Up Solsbury Hill
No though you never meant to make me cry,
You made me cry like this
So now I crawl back
Up Solsbury Hill
